Hello! I am a STOTT PILATES Certified Instructor and I have been teaching Pilates since 2009. During that time, I have developed a passion for helping my clients find, connect to and strengthen their deep core musculature.
I first learned about diastasis recti, also known as an abdominal separation, during my Pilates training and then experienced it during both of my pregnancies. I went on to heal it both times with the exercises and techniques I had learned and utilized during my Pilates career. Since then, in both my professional and personal life, I have encountered numerous people (women & men!) who have an abdominal separation and in many cases don’t even know it.
Building on my education and personal and professional experiences, I have done countless hours of research into the best ways to strengthen the abdominals and heal this condition. I was alarmed to learn that while exercise is the best way to heal it, some exercises and even the correct exercises done incorrectly can exacerbate and even cause a diastasis recti. I am passionate about bringing my knowledge of how to safely strengthen the core to offer a place where people can both work to heal and move beyond their abdominal separation.
